NFL Sunday was a record-breaking day with one record been broken by the Baltimore Ravens kicker drilling a game-winning kick from 66 yards out to take his Ravens team to 2-1 for the year. Jamal Agnew of the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars brought some light to this franchise matching an NFL record 109-yard touchdown, Arizona kicker Matt Prater attempted to break the then record himself going for a 68-yard field goal. however, his kick fell short and Agnew took the ball the length of the field to the house.
Game of The Week
In the AFC West, the Justin Herbert led Los Angeles Chargers made the trip to Arrowhead Field to take on divisional rivals Kansas City Chiefs. Herbert threw for 4 touchdowns and over 280 passing yards in his team’s victory to send the Chiefs to 1-2, two of his touchdown passes were to the resurgent WR Mike Williams who ended up with 7 catches for 122 yards to go along with his touchdowns.
The game came to life in the second quarter when Herbert threw the first of his TD’s to Keenan Allen for an easy short touchdown, Allen came up with several key tough catches this game that kept the Chargers ticking over. Kansas looked like they were marching down the field to tie the game with impressive runs from Edwards-Hellaire and a key catch from TE Travis Kelce, however, the former gave up the ball on a fumble recovered by the defense. LA was the next to score with Austin Ekeler catching a pass and diving into the endzone, they then went for the 2 point attempt which was successful to take the score to 14-0 after the missed PAT on the earlier TD. Kansas City got themselves on the board with a field goal with 19 seconds to go till halftime.
Kansas City came out swinging in the second half scoring 14 unanswered points to take the lead, the first of Mahomes touchdown passes went to WR Jody Fortson on a short 2-yard pass. Mahomes was under pressure from pass-rusher Joey Bosa all day long but he couldn’t prevent a quick screen pass to Edwards-Hellaire who took it in form 10 yards out.
Mike Williams scored his second touchdown on a 20-yard dime of a pass from Herbert to regain the lead, with the lead flip-flopping between the two teams it was Mecole Hardman who gave the Chiefs the lead back making it 24-21. With 2 minutes to go LA kicker, Tristan Vizcaino nailed a 24-yard field goal to square up the game. With 1.42 an under pressure Mahomes sailed a pass straight into coverage and it was intercepted by Alohi Gilan to give his side the ball with a chance to win. A 20 yard TD pass to Mike Williams looked like it had left too much time on the clock with 32 seconds left giving the Chiefs a chance to go and win the game, however, Mahomes threw a pick to Asante Samuel. Jr to end the game.

Elsewhere in the AFC West the Broncos and the Raiders went 3-0 with wins over the Jets and the Dolphins, passing leader Derek Carr continued his impressive start to the year taking his passing yard total over 1200 yards in just 3 games. The Pittsburgh Steelers fresh off a loss to the aforementioned Raiders took another loss this time to divisional rivals Cincinnati, the former LSU pair of Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chade linked up for 2 touchdowns.
Atlanta got their first win of the year sending the New York Giants to a disappointing 0-3 on the year, elsewhere in the NFC East the Eagles took a 41-21 loss at the hands of the Cowboys in Monday Night Football, Dak Prescott passed for 238 yards and 3 touchdowns, with running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard teaming up for 155 rushing yard with Elliot scoring 2 touchdowns.
